Matt Booth of Room101 Cigars has resurrected his old Namakubi brand and turned it into a limited-edition to be released for the holidays and this cigar has a charitable mission in mind, which is reflected in the color of its packaging. The new cigar is set to launch starting next Tuesday.

Made in the Dominican Republic at Tabacalera William Ventura, the Room101 Namakubi Ranfla is a perfecto that measures 5 1/2 inches by 50 ring gauge, and is rolled with an Ecuador Habano wrapper, Honduran binder and a mix of Dominican and Honduran filler.

The limited-edition cigar will be coming in purple packaging in dedication to Alzheimer’s awareness. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to a charity called Keep Memory Alive, an organization that funds research and programs to provide assistance for those affected by brain disorders and their families, a cause near and dear to Booth.

The Ranfla will be launched at a private event on November 30 at Club Humidor in San Antonio, Texas, with the cigars shipping nationwide shortly after.

“I am grateful that we have the opportunity to re-launch such a critical sub-brand to our series with dear friends,” Booth told Cigar Aficionado.

Production will be limited to 101 boxes of 10 coffins (or “caskets” as Booth prefers to call them), along with an additional 1,001 boxes of 10 paper-wrapped cigars. Booth said that next year’s release of Namakubi will be a perfecto as well, but will have a different blend, similar to his Room101 Anniversary series.

The Namakubi Ranfla has a suggested retail price of $25 each, $30 for the casket version.
