New S.T. Dupont Collection Pays Homage To Paris

“We’ll always have Paris,” said Humphrey Bogart at the end of the 1942 classic film Casablanca. More than 80 years later, French luxury goods maker S.T. Dupont is echoing Bogie’s sentiment with a new collection of accessories titled S.T. Dupont Loves Paris. A love letter to famous Parisian landmarks, the pricey, limited-edition lighter and pen sets have shipped to U.S. and global retailers.
S.T. Dupont Loves Paris comes in three different versions. The first, called the Smoking Kit, contains a Ligne 2 lighters designed to resemble the Arc de Triomphe, the famous historical monument standing at the western end of the Champs-Elysées in Paris. Made from solid brass, the lighter is decorated with palladium and gold lacquer trim, and produces two soft flames for toasting the foot of your cigar.
The Smoking Kit comes with a lacquered wood presentation box (shown above) featuring miniature models of the Eiffel Tower and the Pont des Arts, an iconic bridge in Paris that crosses the River Seine. The set retails for $5,750.
For pen connoisseurs, there’s the S.T. Dupont Loves Paris Writing Kit. It contains a fountain pen crafted to resemble Les Invalides, a historic complex of buildings that includes a veterans hospital and retirement home, museums, chapels and Napoleon’s tomb. Embellished with a 14K white gold nib, the fountain pen is made from brass and finished with gold lacquer and palladium trim. The pen is available with a fine, medium or broad nib size. A versatile writing instrument, the fountain pen can be filled with ink cartridges or bottled ink using a piston converter. If you find the fountain pen to be too fussy, you can change it out for a rollerball attachment (included in the kit), which screws easily into the pen barrel.
Just like the Smoking Kit, the Writing Kit comes with a lacquered wood presentation box, along with models of the Eiffel Tower and the Pont des Arts. It’s priced at $4,450.
Finally, S.T. Dupont offers The Collector Set, containing both the Arc de Triomphe lighter and the Les Invalides pen, along with its Paris-themed models and display box. The Collector Set has a price tag of $9,950.
Each set is limited to 150 pieces, in celebration of S.T. Dupont’s 150 years of business. Founded in 1872, the company started its anniversary celebrations last year. Coles of London distributes S.T. Dupont pens, lighters and accessories in the United States.
