Hoyo de Monterrey
Cuba’s José Gener registered the Hoyo de Monterrey brand in 1865 and the cigar has long been a major name in Cuban cigars. The brand is named after the Basin of Monterrey, which refers to a fertile plantation bought by tobacco grower José Gener in 1860 that's located on a river’s edge in the Vuelta Abajo region of Cuba. The Hoyo Double Corona has a longstanding reputation for excellence, as does the robusto-sized Epicure No. 2.
