First Look: New Aging Room Small Batch M21

A new size and blend of the Aging Room Small Batch is hitting shelves later this summer.

Called Aging Room Small Batch M21, the smoke is named for the date (Monday, January 21) on which it was finalized this year.

The cigar is a Dominican puro, made from Habano-seed tobaccos grown in La Canella, Dominican Republic. The cigars are made by Jochi Blanco at his Tabacalera La Palma Factory in Tamboril, Dominican Republic.

The leaves in the blend, according to brand owner Rafael Nodal, have been aging in bales for several years.

The blend will be produced in only one size: a perfecto called Fortissimo that measures 5 3/4 by 47 ring. It will be packaged in ten-count, numbered boxes. Only 3,000 boxes will be produced, with a suggested price of $11.35 per cigar.

Past incarnations of Aging Room have scored extremely well. The Aging Room M356 Presto scored 94 points in 2011, and the Aging Room Quattro F55 Concerto scored 93 points.

"If we are giving scores, lock me in for a "90"" —September 11, 2013 23:50 PM
"Im a big Aging room fan...the M356 and Forte are permanent residents of a couple of my humidors for daily smokes. I surely hope the Forissimo just needs some time to stablize in my humdor as my first test run was slightly below par. I wasnt going to remove any of the tapered foot but attempting to light such a shape andget an even burn just seems useless. Snipped off approx 1/4 inch off foot. instantly better results as far as draw, but burn was still uneven and required contant attention and relights. For those of you who can see past contraction and burn issues in the quest for a great cigar, I do admit its flavor profile varies slightly from the M356 and Forte in a good way. clean transitions between flavors makes this a complex enjoyable experience with rich smoke output (once you can get a good even burn established) solid medium 1st and 2nd 3rd, medium/full last third. Really is a great stick except for burn issues . I hope a few months of aging will bring sone calmness to this cigar as its great flavor profile deserves a clean burn to go along with it for pure enjoyment. " —September 11, 2013 23:48 PM
