A trio of green-hued cigars from Drew Estate is hitting cigar shops. Called Kentucky Fire Cured Swamp Thang and Kentucky Fire Cured Swamp Rat, the cigars, which are partially wrapped in candela leaf, have launched in three sizes and are arriving at retailers nationwide this week.
Swamp Thang and Swamp Rat first debuted at the International Premium Cigar and Pipe Retailers trade show last year and later soft launched at the company's Kentucky Barn Smoker event on October 1, in Hopkinsville, Kentucky.
An extension to the original Kentucky Fire Cured cigar brand, which itself is an extension to the My Uzi Weighs a Ton brand, both Swamp Thang and Swamp Rat are draped in two-toned wrappers: the top portion, according to the company, is barrel-fermented, Kentucky fire-cured tobacco leaf; the bottom portion is green candela leaf hailing from the Dominican Republic. Drew Estate is currently keeping quiet about other details of the blend.
The release includes three sizes: Swamp Thang Toro; at 6 inches by 52 ring; Swamp Thang Robusto, 5 by 54; and Swamp Rat, 6 by 46. The cigars have launched in paper wrapped 10-count bundles and can also be purchased as singles from retail display trays. The cigars are priced at $7.10 to $8.35 each and are arriving at cigar stores this week.
