Davidoff has added a new limited-edition cigar to its Winston Churchill line, and it offers a bit more power than its predecessors. Named Raconteur in honor of Sir Winston Churchill's affinity for telling stories, the cigar measures 6 inches by 56 ring gauge, retails for $27.90 and comes packed in boxes of 10. Only 6,000 boxes were made.
Raconteur is a four-country blend that includes a Cuban-seed wrapper grown in Ecuador, Mexican San Andrés binder and a filler combination of Nicaraguan and Dominican tobaccos. Raconteur's blend is similar to the Winston Churchill core line, but with a few adjustments: its filler includes ligero leaf grown in Estelí, Nicaragua, as well as San Vicente ligero that Davidoff claims is 15 years old.
While the band for Raconteur is the same as the other cigars in the Winston Churchill line (a gold silhouette of Churchill's profile), Raconteur sports a secondary band that is scrawled with different famous Churchill quotations on it.
