Washington Casa de Montecristo Moving To New Location, No Smoking Allowed Inside

Washington D.C.-based cigar lounge Casa de Montecristo by JR Cigar is headed to a new location, a 4,000 square-foot, two-story building with retail space, private humidor lockers and a bar on each floor—but you won’t be able to smoke inside.

Due to D.C. regulations, the new location, now called Casa de Montecristo Washington, only allows cigar lovers to light up their smokes on an enclosed outdoor patio space. The new location opens February 12.

“What adult cigar smokers will find at our new store,” said Luis Miguel Torres, chief executive officer of Casa de Montecristo, “is a great selection of the finest cigars available in the United States, and great accommodations for adult cigar lovers to relax and enjoy premium hand-made cigars with friends and like-minded adult consumers.”

The first floor of the new Casa de Montecristo features a street level, heated outdoor patio for smoking. Inside, customers will find a beer, wine and spirits bar, wall mounted, high-def televisions and sixteen Spanish cedar humidified wall units displaying premium cigars for purchase.

The second floor offers another bar, more seating and 60 private humidor lockers for customers to store their personal cigars.

The new Casa de Montecristo Washington building is located on 19th Street N.W., between L and M Streets, two blocks away from its current location.

There are currently 28 Casa de Montecristo branded locations across the United States, run by Tabacalera USA, a subsidiary of tobacco giant Imperial Brands PLC. Tabacalera also operates Altadis U.S.A. Inc., Santa Clara Inc. and JR Cigar.
