Vintage Cuban Cigar Auction Begins Next Week
This cabinet of pre-embargo Punch Coronas sold for $43,000 at the C.Gars auction last fall.

Anyone looking to do some early holiday shopping will soon have a selection of vintage smokes to buy for the cigar lover in their life. Beginning next week, London-based cigar retailer C.Gars Ltd. will hold its online winter auction, which is slated to include 450 lots of rare and aged Havana cigars, including several anniversary humidors.

The auction will span from November 25 to December 2. While the entire catalog has not yet been released, C.Gars has teased a list of featured lots which are expected to be some of the more notable offerings in the auction. There will be aged Cuban Davidoff and Dunhill cigars, two discontinued brands that are highly sought after by collectors. A large selection of Cohiba cigars will also go up for auction, including Sublimes, Double Coronas, Gran Reservas, Majestuosos and Behikes selected from Cohiba’s special 40th anniversary humidor

The auction also boasts a variety of limited anniversary humidors, like a Ramon Allones 225th anniversary humidor, a Romeo y Julieta 130th anniversary humidor and a Trinidad 40th anniversary humidor.

Also up for auction will be a Davidoff Winston Churchill humidor, a charity lot with proceeds going to the Lennox Lewis Boxing Academy Foundation. The special humidor features an intricate black-and-white design with a silhouette of Winston Churchill on the lid. It is filled with 48 Davidoff cigars (non-Cuban), half Winston Churchill Aristocrats and half Winston Churchill The Late Hour Churchills. This lot will not be subject to a buyer’s premium.

C.Gars has been holding Cuban cigar auctions since 2009. Many of its featured lots have sold for exorbitant prices. Its most recent auction in September of this year featured a large cabinet of Cuban Punch cigars that sold for $43,000.
