VIDEO: Unboxing Cuba’s Cohiba 55 Aniversario Edición Limitada

Cuba is throwing a party for Cohiba this week, building up to a celebration of its most high-profile cigar launch in years, the Cohiba 55 Aniversario Edición Limitada 2021. The cigars measure 5 7/8 inches long by 57 ring gauge. The main release, which comes in boxes of 10, is expected later this fall. Earlier versions of the cigars, presented in boxes of five and known as Premier, have already gone on sale. They debuted at $1,500 per box, which works out to $300 a cigar—roughly triple the price of a Cohiba Esplendido and double the price of most Cohiba Behikes. Some outlets are selling them for far more.

Even though it’s being held in Havana, this is not the first party for the new Cohiba. A series of celebrations took place in May in various countries, including Cyprus, the home of Phoenicia T.A.A., one of the world’s biggest distributors of Cuban cigars.
The large smoke has a pigtail and goes by the factory name Victoria. Distributor Habanos S.A. says the strength level falls between medium to full in body, or medio a fuerte.
