Toscano Cigars to be Distributed In House

After five years of being distributed by Miami Cigar & Co., Manifatture Sigaro Toscano has taken U.S. distribution in house. Starting February 1, all Toscano cigars will be distributed out of Parodi Holdings (dba Avanti Cigar Co.), a subsidiary owned by MST based in Dunmore, Pennsylvania.
Toscano cigars are rustic smokes made in Italy from fire-cured, Kentucky-seed tobacco grown in Italy as well as in Tennessee. They are known for having a truncated cone shape and strong, smoky character.
“Both companies believe that their respective portfolio requires 100 percent focus of the two organizations,” said Luciano Simeone, chief operating officer for MST US Holdings LLC. “This evaluation led both companies to end the commercial partnership.”
In December, Miami Cigar & Co., which distributes Nestor Miranda and La Aurora cigars, announced cuts to its sales force and a downsizing of management.
While most Toscano cigars are made by machine, a few brands are made by hand—Originale, Duecento and Stilnovo.
Toscano cigars are sold in more than 80 countries worldwide, and the brand’s largest markets are Italy, Germany and Spain.
