Ferio Tego will celebrate a decade of the Timeless blend with the Timeless Ten Years. The limited-edition smoke comes in one size, Robusto Grande, which measures 5 3/4 inches long by 54 ring gauge. It will be on display this weekend at the PCA trade show.
The cigars are being rolled by the same family that was there when the brand was born, Quesada Cigars in the Dominican Republic. Production will be limited to 2,500 boxes, each with 10 cigars. The cigars will retail for $18.50 each.
The blend is a mix of Nicaraguan and Dominican fillers, a Dominican binder and a wrapper grown in the Dominican Republic.
Timeless has been a standout cigar since its debut, when it was known as Nat Sherman Timeless. In 2012, the Timeless No. 2 was named Cigar Aficionado’s No. 10 Cigar of the Year.
“That No. 10 put us on the map,” says Michael Herklots, who co-owns Ferio Tego. (Altria Inc. acquired the Nat Sherman brand, closed down the flagship store in New York and stopped selling premium cigars in the fall of 2020. In January 2021, Herklots and Brendon Scott bought the company’s former cigar brands and worked on getting them back onto the market, under the name Ferio Tego.)
“This limited release is our way of celebrating this 10-year milestone,” says Herklots.
The core Timeless Collection is made up of four blends; two from Dominican Republic (made by Quesada) and two from Nicaragua (made by Plasencia Cigars).
The Timeless Collection debuted in the United States in January 2012 with the Dominican version, today known as is Timeless Prestige Blend. Timeless Supreme (formerly Timeless Nicaragua) was released that summer. Timeless Sterling, which is rolled in the Dominican Republic, was released in 2013, and Timeless Panamericana (made in Nicaragua) began selling across the United States in 2018.
“The Timeless Collection means a great deal to me,” says Herklots. The first version of the brand was the first blend, and brand, that he created.
The limited-edition, anniversary Timeless cigars are expected to reach retailers in early August.
