The Tobacconist Association of America today released the lineup for its exclusive series, fourteen cigars that are only sold through the stores of the group's retail members. Nine of the products are new, limited-edition cigars, and five of the products have been, and will continue to be, available to retailers this year.
For the limited-edition TAA series, once the production is sold out, the cigar will be no longer available to the retailers. The continued production cigars that will be sold over the course of the year include the Ashton VSG Robusto Especial, Drew Estate Acid Big Bang, Padrón 1964 Toro, Rocky Patel 15th Anniversary and the Nat Sherman Panamericana (which has added three new sizes). This year, the TAA Exclusive Series manufacturers were asked to include a TAA logo, on some foot or regular band, affixed to the cigars.
"The Exclusive Series cigar represent a way to generate revenue, create consumer excitement with exclusive merchandise for the retailers," says Tiffany Rumbo, who heads the TAA selection committee. The organization received about $100,000 from Exclusive Series sales in 2015, based on a rebate manufacturers provide to the organization.
