Studio Tobac Hits the Road with 2012 Tour Sampler

Studio Tobac is on the road again, and it’s bringing a rare, limited-edition sampler of prototype cigars on its list of stops all around the world.

The fifth annual Studio Tobac World Tour 2012 began last week with a kick-off event in Tampa, Florida. Studio Tobac is a 2007 creation of the Oliva Cigar Co. that produces the NUb and Cain brands and has previously partnered with cigarmaker Ernesto Padilla. From now until November they’ll visit 80 retailers nationwide as part of the tour.

Each stop on the World Tour will include live cigar-rolling demonstrations with custom hand rolled premium cigars. Studio Tobac will also have branded lighters, cutters and other limited-edition items available for purchase only on the Tour.

But the most interesting offering is the limited Studio Tobac Cigar sampler. It will contain six unreleased Studio Tobac prototype cigars, and will be available for free with a box purchase.

This year’s offering of limited cigars includes the USA Nub 460, Cain F Maduro Robusto, Prototype ST-EFG01 (full flavor CT Robusto), Cain Daytona Maduro Figurado, Prototype ST-002, and the Cain Daytona Lancero.

Executive board member Dave Wagner told Cigar Insider that these boxes will not be available for purchase except on event days during the 2012 World Tour. In past years only some of the cigars from the sampler boxes have gone into production after the prototype release, so some of these cigars may never again be shared with the public.

Studio Tobac also has international events planned, including a European leg of the tour. The full calendar is available at

"Interesting, considering every Cohiba produced by General Cigar is a counterfeit. Yes, some are good in their own right but it's ironic that General is enforcing a trademark on a name they stole. " —April 30, 2012 14:54 PM
