Stallone Mustang Saddles Up For PCA

Stallone Cigars, the company behind the horse-themed Cowboy Series, now has a new pair of cigars in honor of what may be considered one of the most well-known breeds, in no small part due to the classic car named after it: Mustang. Debuting at the PCA trade show this July, the Nicaraguan cigars are set to gallop into stores immediately following the show.
Most cigars in the Cowboy Series are made with wrappers that resemble the colors of the horses they’re named after, but mustangs come in many shades and therefore Mustang will have two different wrappers, one for each size: the Short Toro, measuring 5 1/2 inches by 50 ring gauge will be available in a natural Ecuador Sumatra cover leaf, whereas the Rothschild, 4 1/2 by 50, will come in a darker oscuro Sumatra leaf, also from Ecuador. The inner tobaccos are the same: two binders from Nicaragua and Brazil, with all-Nicaraguan filler grown in Jalapa, Estelí and Condega.
According to the brand owner Tony Barrios, the cigars are medium in strength.
Barrios told Cigar Aficionado that he aimed to provide a premium smoke at a budget-friendly price as they retail for $5.99 and $5.45, respectively. The Rothschild size in particular was to cater to a new clientele as there is no other cigar in his portfolio with these shorter dimensions.
Rolled in Nicaragua at the Las Villas Cigars factory, Mustang comes in bundles of 25. Brick-and-mortar retailers who order two or more bundles will get a refillable wooden box containing 50 of each cigar.
