Rocky Patel Smoker In New York

Rocky Patel is coming to New York next week for a night of cigars, food and drink. A Taste of the Good Life takes place on September 13 at Studio Square's 30,000-square-foot space in Long Island City, a smoker-friendly venue that has views of Manhattan.

While it's increasingly difficult to find cigar events that also include food, due to smoking laws, this event features carving stations with filet mignon, steak tartare, pork loin and salmon from S Prime Steakhouse, plus raw bars with shellfish and tuna tartare and plenty of sides. The bar will be stocked with Laphroaig Single Malt Scotch, bourbons from Jim Beam, Patron tequila and Russian Standard vodka, plus cold Radeberger beer.

In additon to the food and booze, your ticket price gets you 6 Rocky Patel cigars in a gift pack, plus another 4 in an ostrich cigar case for a total of 10 cigars.

Tickets to the event are $225 a person, and a portion of proceeds raised from the evening will go to Cigar Rights of America.

Note: An earlier version of this story had the wrong number of cigars being passed out at the dinner.

"STUPID QUESTION, WHAT TIME IS THIS EVENT?" —September 10, 2012 21:26 PM
"Shame on us for the Laphroaig typo. We also had the wrong number of cigars (it's 10). Both mistakes have been corrected. Obviously our editors were sipping too much peaty Scotch." —September 10, 2012 10:18 AM
"Can't believe you misspelled Laphroaig with an "f."" —September 8, 2012 10:25 AM
"It should be an amazing event. The venue that it is being heals at is fantastic with a beautiful rooftop overlooking the city skyline while smoking Rocky's best cigars! Can't wait." —September 7, 2012 17:33 PM
