A new Rocky Patel cigar is headed to retail stores earlier than expected. Called Rocky Patel LB1, the brand debuted at the PCA trade show this summer and was slated to ship to cigar shops next month, but has already started heading out the door.
“It started shipping this week,” says Nish Patel, of Rocky Patel Premium Cigars.
Described as a medium-bodied smoke, Rocky Patel LB1 is made with an Ecuadoran Habano wrapper over a blend of Honduran and Nicaraguan tobaccos. LB1 comes in five sizes: Corona, at 6 inches by 44 ring gauge ($8.25); Robusto, at 5 1/2 by 50 ($8.75); Toro, 6 1/2 by 52 ($9.50); Churchill Shaggy Foot, 7 by 48 ($9.50); and Sixty, 6 by 60 ($10.90).
The cigar was named after the factory code it was given during preproduction at the El Paraiso factory in Danli, Honduras.
