Rocky Patel Adds A Grande To Royale

Rocky Patel Adds A Grande To Royale

The large-ring-gauge trend won't be going away anytime soon—and Rocky Patel's critically acclaimed Royale line is the newest blend to get the 6 by 60 treatment.

A new size called Sixty is shipping to retailers now. According to Rocky Patel Premium Cigars, the vitola was introduced to meet consumer demand for the standard 6 inch by 60 ring gauge Grande size. The Sixty is not, however, the largest cigar in Rocky Patel's Royale line; that distinction belongs to Colossal, which measures 7 inches by 62 ring.

The Royale line is made at Patel's Tabacalera Villa Cubana S.A. factory in Estelí, Nicaragua. The Sixty size joins six other vitolas in the Royale line: Toro, Toro Tubo, Corona, Robusto, Torpedo and Colossal. The Toro size is noted for its 94-point rating in Cigar Aficionado magazine, earning the accolade of number 4 cigar of 2015.

Royale Sixty is packaged in 20-count boxes and retails for $12 per cigar. The cigar, like the Toro Tubo and Colossal, are rounded. All of the other sizes in Rocky Patel's Royale line are box pressed.
