British cigar shops have just received the 2018 Cuban Regional Edition El Rey del Mundo. According to distributor Hunters & Frankau, it’s made at the El Laguito Factory, the proverbial home of Cohiba cigars, and it’s believed to be the first Regional Edition made exclusively at El Laguito.
A group of England’s cigar connoisseurs were some of the first to smoke the La Reina on Monday at the Churchill Bar & Terrace in London, where the cigar was unveiled for its official release party.
Jemma Freeman, managing director for Hunters & Frankau, said that she decided on the size because she was inspired by an upturn in interest for slender cigars among U.K. smokers.
Like the famed Cohiba Lancero, the El Rey del Mundo La Reina is made with a pigtail cap. It has a suggested retail price of £33.90 ($43.67) per cigar and comes packaged in 24-count boxes. Only 3,500 boxes will be produced.
