RabbitAir A3 Air Purifier

Just because social distancing often means smoking at home, there’s no reason to cede the kind of air refreshment you enjoy at your favorite lounge. The new RabbitAir A3 ($750), at the top of its class when it comes to modular, plug-and-play purifiers, is not only effective, but portable. The most obvious improvement to its predecessor (the lauded MinusA2) is the 30 percent increase in capacity. The A3 covers a 1,070 square-foot space filtering 8,560 cubic feet of air every 30 minutes—or two complete air changes per hour—when set on high.
Like other RabbitAir units, the A3 operates on the company’s signature six-stage filtration system, which includes a BioGS HEPA filter (for particles smaller than 0.1 microns) and an activated carbon charcoal filter that’s especially good at absorbing cigar smoke. An additional customized filter also comes with the A3.
We recommend going with the Odor Remover option, yet another element well-suited for our smoky pastime. Such functions as adding negative ions to the air are as easy as pressing a button. Once you’ve loaded the filters into the unit and plugged it into the nearest outlet, a simple push of a button can put the A3 on auto, which automatically analyzes the air quality and kicks into a higher filtration mode as needed. When the A3 has done its job, it reverts to a lower, whisper-quiet setting.
At 20 pounds and almost 20 inches high, the A3 can be moved with little effort, or mounted to a wall if you don’t have the floor space. And while the unit is engineered for you to set it and forget it, you can always monitor and control the A3 through your phone should you want to check up on it while you’re away from home.
