It’s never too early to think about Oktoberfest, and Quesada Cigars wants you to keep a pocket in your lederhosen open for a cigar or two. The Dominican cigarmaker is gearing up for the world’s best-known beer party with its annual release, this year called Oktoberfest 2022 Edition.
The brand was created by Quesada in 2011 as a seasonal release intended to be paired with Germany’s Märzen-style beers served in Munich during Oktoberfest. Made at the Quesada's TABADEX factory in the Dominican Republic, Quesada Oktoberfest 2022 Edition is rolled with a Mexican San Andrés wrapper, while the internal tobaccos all hail from the Dominican Republic.
The new smokes will be available in several sizes. Uber is the fattest, measuring a whopping 6 inches long by 65 ring gauge. It will retail for $10.85. A torpedo called Das Boot (6 inches by 52) will sell for $9.95, and Bavarian (5 1/2 by 52) will be $9.50. A total of 800 boxes of each of those sizes will be produced for the U.S. market, each containing ten sticks. (A fourth size called Prost, 5 1/2 by 56, will be sold to special customers of Cigar.com.)
The cigars will be on display in early July, at the PCA trade show, with shipping expected to follow in September.
