Quality Importers Trading Co., a company that has been quite active in amassing a portfolio of well-known cigar accessory brands via acquisition, has added a longtime cigar industry veteran. Les Mann, formerly of Colibri, has been named the company’s executive vice president of sales.
Mann will lead the sales effort at Quality Importers, which is based in Weston, Florida. “I have known Les for over 10 years,” said Michael Cellucci, president of Quality Importers, “and I am beyond excited to bring on someone who shares in our aggressive vision for growth.”
Mann spoke of his excitement in moving to the new position. “My years with S.T. Dupont and Colibri have made me a strong and passionate believer in the power of brands,” said Mann. The 56-year-old worked at Colibri for 18 years, and has more than 30 years of business-to-business sales experience. “It was very important for me, personally, that I remain in the trade as part of the next chapter in my life,” he said.
Quality Importers was founded in 2000 by Michael Giordano, the company’s CEO. Over the past seven years, it has built quite a library of cigar brands via acquisition. In 2011 it acquired Stinky Ashtrays, and in 2015 it acquired the Palió cigar cutter brand. The following year, Quality Importers acquired Orleans Group, a humidor and cigar accessories company, and in January 2018 it bought Xikar, the Kansas City, Missouri, company known for its distinctive, teardrop-shaped cigar cutters as well as a line of cigar lighters and other accessories. It owns other products as well.
Cellucci, who joined Quality Importers in January 2017, previously served as president of Nicaraguan cigarmaker Drew Estate.
“The addition of Les delivers on our commitment to not only build upon our product offerings, but also our senior leadership as we aspire to be the world’s leading supplier of cigar and smoking accessories,” said Giordano.
