ProCigar Festival Not Happening in February

The ProCigar Festival in the Dominican Republic will not be taking place in February as scheduled—the organizers announced this morning the event was being postponed. No new date has been announced. The organizers changed plans due to the continuing effects of the Coronavirus pandemic.
“Our first consideration under these difficult circumstances must be for the health and well-being of all participants involved in the event while national governments seek to contain the spread of this disease,” ProCigar said in a statement.
Earlier this year ProCigar held its 13th Festival, which concluded on February 21, roughly one month before much of the world began shutting down due to concerns over the pandemic.
The ProCigar Festival is one of many events postponed or canceled in the wake of the pandemic, joining Cuba’s 2021 Habanos Festival, Nicaragua’s Puro Sabor, the 2020 PCA tradeshow and the 2020 Big Smokes from Cigar Aficionado.
