ProCigar Cancels 2021 Festival in Dominican Republic

The 2021 ProCigar Festival in the Dominican Republic has been officially canceled. Although the organization originally postponed the event, ProCigar has made the decision to call off the festival entirely due to the country’s ongoing Covid-19 safety restrictions.
“We have made the difficult decision to cancel our ProCigar Festival 2021,” said ProCigar president Hendrik Kelner in a release. “We know that this decision is disappointing, but we hope that everyone can understand that right now our priority is to keep the collaborators and participants of the event safe.”
This is the third major cigar festival to be canceled this year, after Nicaragua’s Puro Sabor and the Habanos Festival in Cuba.
Dates for the 2022 ProCigar festival have been put on the books. Next year, the event is scheduled to take place from February 20 to 25.
