The Premium Cigar Association—the organization formerly known as the IPCPR—has canceled its plans to open one day of its 2020 trade show to consumers. In a release put out this morning, the PCA said having a consumer day during the 2021 trade show “will be considered.”
The organization said it has created a sub-committee to focus on the consumer day, which it has dubbed CigarCon.
The trade association dates back to 1933, when it was known as the Retail Tobacco Dealers of America. The organization’s annual trade show brings together retailers and cigarmakers over several days of business and has traditionally been off limits to consumers.
The most recent PCA trade show was held in late-June. The next show is scheduled to begin on July 10, 2020 in Las Vegas.
