The Longines Masters Series of equestrian jumping features the noble sport of horse jumping. Now, it also has superb cigars.

Oliva Cigars, maker of the Oliva Serie V Melanio Figurado, the 2014 Cigar of the Year, has become a sponsor of the Longines Masters. The first Oliva appearance was at the Paris show, held in November, followed by the show in Hong Kong, held in February.

This week, Oliva is sponsoring a cigar display at the Longines Master Series in New York. The event runs April 25 to April 28 at the Nassau Veteran’s Memorial Coliseum.

Oliva created a special red, lacquered box for Hong Kong, with 500 boxes created for sale at the event and in cigar shops in Hong Kong, Vietnam, Holland and Belgium. The boxes—which were not for sale in the United States—contained 10 Oliva Serie V Melanio Churchills.

For New York, Oliva will have the cigars in blue, lacquered boxes, and the company made 100 of them. Oliva intends to sell 50 at the event, with the remaining 50 to be sold in Belgium, the country where Oliva parent company J. Cortès makes is headquarters.

The Longines Masters Series is a show jumping tournament, dubbed the “Grand Slam of Show Jumping,” and it features potential prizes of 1 million euros and more.
