Oliva Cigar Co. and high-end accessories producer Elie Bleu have teamed up to create a commemorative limited-edition humidor called the XXI Selection Humidor. Retailers can expect the rare set to start appearing early next year.
The handsome humidor measures approximately 11 1 /2 inches wide by 18 inches long and 8 1/4 inches tall. On the outer lid is an inlaid image of a pair of hands rolling cigars. On one side is a pull-out drawer containing a lighter, cutter and a three-finger cigar case.
The humidor will contain 95 cigars stretching across the entire Oliva portfolio, but the most notable is a new size of the Oliva Serie V Melanio blend called the Figurino. Measuring 5 1/2 inches by 52 ring gauge, the cigar is a figurado shape, tapering on both ends. The cigar was designed by Frederik Vandermarliere, owner of J. Cortès Cigars N.V., which purchased Oliva in 2016.
As with all other in the Serie V Melanio line, the cigar features an Ecuador Habano wrapper with Nicaraguan binder and fillers.
The number 2021 is a running theme throughout the humidor, from the name, to the number of the Figurino sticks that will be included, to the number of humidors that will be produced. The price for the collection will also be 21,000 euros, or approximately $24,320.
