Two special Joyas have landed at cigar shops around the country. Joya de Nicaragua, known for its popular Antaño 1970 brand, has started shipping two limited-edition cigars to Tobacconists’ Association of America (TAA) retailers.
The first is called Joya de Nicaragua Antaño Gran Reserva Presidente, a re-release of last year’s TAA-exclusive cigar, and a brand new smoke called Joya de Nicaragua Selección de Torcedor 2019.
The Gran Reserva Presidente is a box-pressed, 6 3/4 inches by 50 ring gauge cigar that comes packaged in 20-count boxes. It’s rolled with entirely Nicaraguan tobaccos and retails for $12.50 per cigar. Only 1,000 boxes will be released this year.
The Joya de Nicaragua Selección de Torcedor 2019 is also a Nicaraguan puro and comes in a 6 inch by 52 ring gauge Toro format. It’s an experimental product for the company, as it carries no official MSRP, and it’s up to each retailer to decide a price point of their own, or offer it as a promotional item.
Seleccion de Torcedor 2019 shipped to TAA retailers in five-packs. For every box of Gran Reserva Presidente a retailer purchased, they were given an additional five-pack. Total production numbers of Seleccion de Torcedor 2019 have not been disclosed
Both the Selección de Torcedor 2019 and the Joya de Nicaragua Antaño Gran Reserva Presidente are rolled at the Joya de Nicaragua factory in Estelí, Nicaragua, which celebrated its 50th anniversary last year.
