New Camacho Partnership Means First Nicaraguan Puro

Camacho Cigars, in partnership with writer/director Rob Weiss, is launching BG Meyer Standard Issue: the first cigar blend for Weiss and the first Nicaraguan puro for Camacho.

BG Meyer is the newest partnership for Camacho Cigars, the Davidoff-owned company that currently shares its name with cigars from former pro-football coach Mike Ditka and all the blends from Matt Booth's Room 101 brand.

The partnership's first cigar, Standard Issue, sports a blend that, according to Camacho, includes five different tobaccos. It's a Nicaraguan puro—unusual for the company, which sources the majority of its tobacco from Honduras and whose factory is located in Danlí, Honduras.

The cigar consists of a Nicaraguan Habano wrapper and binders and fillers from several regions of the Central American country.

Weiss, a decade-long cigar smoker, is a writer/producer/director best known for the HBO hit series Entourage. He has an upcoming project for the cable network about the patriarch of the infamous motorcycle club Hell's Angels.

Standard Issue will be offered in five sizes: 5 inch by 50 ring gauge Robusto, 6 by 50 Toro, 7 by 49 Churchill, 6 1/8 by 54 Figurado and a 6 by 60 Gordo. They'll retail for between $8.00 and $10.00 and will begin shipping at the end of the month.

Camacho has created a video to go with the launch of the new brand.
