First shipments of the Inch Limited Edition 2019 from EPC Cigar Co. are going out to retailers today. It’s the newest smoke from EPC Cigar Co., owned by Hall of Fame cigarmaker Ernesto Perez-Carrillo.
Made in the Dominican Republic at the La Alianza factory, the Inch EL 2019 consists of all Nicaraguan tobacco, save for the Connecticut Habano wrapper. Living up to its name, this fat cigar measures 6 1/8 inches long by 64 ring gauge, which makes it a full inch in diameter.
Only 20,000 cigars are being produced, or 2,000 boxes of 10. According to EPC Cigar, 350 boxes are shipping to retailers today, with the remaining boxes shipping over the next three weeks.
The Inch Limited Edition 2019 has a suggested retail price of $15 per cigar.
Perez-Carrillo has been at the forefront of the fat cigar trend. He brought excessively heavy ring gauge cigars to the mainstream when he created La Gloria Cubana Serie R in the late 1990s, a brand that consists of very thick sizes. Perez-Carrillo, who was inducted into the Cigar Aficionado Hall of Fame in 2012, is the maker of the E.P. Carrillo Encore Majestic, Cigar Aficionado’s 2018 Cigar of the Year.
