La Sirena Acquires Old School Cigars

In a move to increase its portfolio, La Sirena Cigars has acquired Old School Cigars, a small cigar company. Both organizations are based in New York.
"La Sirena's acquisition of Old School Cigars represents a natural fit," said La Sirena president and founder Arielle Ditkowich in a press release.
Old School Cigars produces three Lines: Stixx, Jaxx and Jaxx LT.
Ditkowich took her brand (which debuted in 2009) independent on New Year's Eve 2013, parting from longtime distributor Miami Cigar & Co. Her portfolio includes the Nicaraguan La Sirena blend, which is made by My Father Cigars, as well as the La Aurora-made Merlion blend from the Dominican Republic.
The acquisition is effective today. Once old stock of Old School Cigar brands are sold out, new labels will include the phrase "by La Sirena."
