IPCPR Being Renamed Premium Cigar Association
The International Premium Cigar and Pipe Retailers (IPCPR) association is changing its name to the Premium Cigar Association. The change will be formally announced on June 28 at the start of the organization’s annual trade show, which is being held at the Sands Convention Center in Las Vegas.
The move is part of a rebranding and reorganization of the 86-year-old group, which is headquartered in Washington, D.C. It has roughly 2,500 cigar shops as members.
This will mark the second time the association has changed names. It was founded in 1933 as the Retail Tobacco Dealers of America (or RTDA) until it changed names in 2007.
