Foundation Adds Lancero to Tabernacle Havana Seed No. 142 Line

Foundation Cigar Co., makers of The Wise Man Maduro Robusto (Cigar Aficionado’s No. 3 cigar of 2018), is adding a slim new size to its Tabernacle Havana Seed CT No. 142 brand. Called Lancero, the cigar marks the fifth vitola in the Havana Seed No. 142 lineup. The cigar will debut at the IPCPR trade show later this month and is slated to ship to retailers in mid-August.
The Tabernacle Havana Seed CT No. 142 Lancero measures 7 inches by 40 ring gauge and is rolled with a dark, inky, Cuban-seed wrapper that’s grown in Connecticut. Underneath lies a Mexican San Andrés binder and filler tobacco from Nicaragua’s Estelí and Jalapa regions, as well as Honduran tobacco from Jamastran.
The Lancero has a retail price of $12.75 per cigar and comes packaged in 24-count, slide-lid wooden boxes.
Tabernacle Havana Seed CT No. 142 is an offshoot of Foundation owner Nicholas Melillo’s biblically inspired Tabernacle brand, which debuted in 2016. Both brands are rolled for Melillo at Tabacalera A.J. Fernandez Cigars de Nicaragua in Estelí, Nicaragua.
