Forbidden Fuentes Fixed For Late Fall

If you’ve ever wondered what a Fuente Fuente OpusX Double Corona or PerfecXion 888 would taste like in the Rare Black blend, you can find out in the next few months. Shipping in November and December, both the Double Corona and the Torpedo will hit retailers in 10-count travel humidors as part of the Fuente Fuente OpusX Rare Black Heaven and Earth series. All bands and boxes are emblazoned with the ForbiddenX logo.
The Double Corona is a former Cigar of the Year in the regular OpusX blend, but for this Rare Black release, it’s cloaked in a dark wrapper of undisclosed origins. The mysterious smoke measures 7 5/8 inches by 49 ring gauge, was made in 2016 and will retail for $65 each, or $650 per box.
The Torpedo was rolled in 2016 (photo depicts earlier release) and is neither belicoso nor pirámide, but a unique size with an unusual nipple point at the head. At 6 7/8 by 44, the Torpedo shares its strange dimensions with the OpusX PerfecXion 888. These are set to retail for $499 per box, or $49.90 each.
Retailers will also be receiving the OpusX Scorpio and Scorpio Maduro (5 3/4 by 52 and made in 2016) under the Heaven and Earth series at $49.90 each, or $499 per 10-count box.
All cigars are made in the Dominican Republic at the Fuente factory and come in glossy travel humidors produced by Prometheus International, the California-based accessories company that also distributes special-edition, aged Fuente cigars.
A portion of the proceeds are earmarked to benefit the Cigar Family Charitable Foundation, a nonprofit organization that has raised millions of dollars to help the underprivileged children of the Dominican Republic.
