Expanded Run For Ferio Tego Timeless TAA 2023

Ferio Tego is bringing back its Timeless cigar that’s exclusive to TAA retailers, the same size and blend that sold out last year. Called Ferio Tego Timeless TAA 2023, the cigar measures 6 inches long by 50 ring gauge, and is made from an all-Nicaraguan blend by the Plasencia family. The new smokes are expected to ship to TAA retailers in April.
Last year’s release was limited to 7,000 cigars, which went quickly. “It sold out in one day at the convention,” Michael Herklots of Ferio Tego told Cigar Aficionado. This year, the company has boosted the run to 8,000 cigars.
Unlike most cigars, which come in boxes, these are packed in black tissue paper. The cigar has three bands: a gray and black Timeless band, a golden band reading “Exclusively For Ferio Tego” and a middle band done in black, gray and red reading “TAA 2023.” This is the third iteration of the release, which began in 2020. There was no 2021 release, due to the pandemic.
The cigar is made entirely from Plasencia tobaccos, with a wrapper grown in Estelí (a region better known for filler tobacco) and filler from Jalapa, traditionally known as a wrapper region. “It’s a bit of an inside-out blend,” says Herklots. “It’s much more typical to do it the other way.” Plasencia rolls the cigar in the company’s Nicaraguan cigar factory.
The cigars carry suggested retail prices of $16.50 each ($165 for the pack of 10) and they will be on display at the TAA convention, which begins next week in La Romana, Dominican Republic. The TAA consists of 79 retail members representing more than 250 cigar stores. TAA Exclusives, such as the one from Ferio Tego, can be found only at TAA retailers.
