Exclusive E.P. Carrillo Encore Ships to TAA Retailers

The thickest E.P. Carrillo Encore ever rolled is now on its way to cigar shops, but you’ll have to act fast if you want one, as quantities are limited.
The new Encore TAA 656 is box-pressed and measures a chunky 6 inches by 56 ring gauge, a touch thicker than the Encore Majestic, the toro that earned a 96-point rating and was named the 2018 Cigar of the Year. Like the other Encore sizes, the TAA 656 blend is made entirely from Nicaraguan tobaccos and is rolled in the Dominican Republic at brand owner Ernesto Perez-Carrillo’s Tabacalera La Alianza cigar factory.
First announced in March, TAA 656 was made exclusively for retail members of the Tobacconists Association of America, which consists of 77 retailers and accounts for nearly 240 stores across the United States. Each year, some of the biggest brands in the handmade cigar industry produce special cigars that are only sold through the retail shops of the organization’s members. While the 2020 TAA convention was canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the exclusive cigars for the organization are still being released.
These TAA-exclusive cigars are often produced in limited quantities, and the Encore TAA 656 is no different. According to the company, a total of only 750 boxes (each holding 10 cigars) are heading to stores. Encore TAA 656 is set to retail for $13.25 per cigar.
