E.P. Carrillo Pledge Ships, Contest Begins

E.P. Carrillo Pledge, the follow-up to the award-winning La Historia and Encore brands, is now on its way to cigar shops nationwide, which means the affiliated contest has also begun.
Pledge is made from a blend of Connecticut Havana-seed wrapper, Ecuadoran binder and Nicaraguan filler. The new brand comes in two box-pressed sizes: a 5 inch by 50 robusto called Prequel that will retail for $10.75 per cigar, and the 6 by 52 Sojourn that will sell for $12 per stick. Both cigars are packed in boxes of 10.
According to Lissette Perez-Carrillo, of EPC Cigar Co., there are 1,250 of each size, or 2,500 boxes in total, heading to stores now. Randomly included among the boxes are six Prequels and six Sojourns that wear cigar bands that have been signed by company founder and Cigar Aficionado Hall of Famer Ernesto Perez-Carrillo.
If a fan finds one of those signed bands, they will win a prize kit that includes a special Pledge rosewood, 75-count humidor with a glass top (without cigars) plus a cutter and lighter. Each humidor will bear the signature of Perez-Carrillo and his daughter, Lissette. See our previous coverage for more details on the contest.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Pledge is being released to only a select few retailers. Check out the company’s “Find a Retailer” section on their website to find a store that may carry the new brand.
