E.P. Carrillo Elencos Series To Be Regular Production

E.P. Carrillo Elencos Series To Be Regular Production
"Brazilian wrappers tend to have spiciness, but at the same time a little bit of creaminess, too.” - Ernesto Perez-Carrillo

What was once a limited-edition cigar line will now be a full-fledged brand. The E.P. Carrillo Elencos series is now in regular production and should be shipping to retailers by the end of this month. The Elencos Series is made with a very dark Brazilian wrapper, Dominican binder and Nicaraguan filler.

Retailing from $8.25 to $9.25, it comes in three sizes: Acto Mayor (a 6 1/4 inch by 52 ring gauge torpedo), Elites (6 by 54) and Don Rubino (5 1/4 by 50). All come in 20-count boxes.

“I really liked the fact that we were using a different wrapper,” said brand owner Ernesto Perez-Carrillo. “It’s not Habano or Sumatra and it doesn’t taste like broadleaf either. It’s a unique wrapper. Brazilian wrappers tend to have spiciness, but at the same time a little bit of creaminess, too.”

The upcoming Elencos do not have the same packaging as the original limited edition. Now, the bands and boxes are rendered in striking shades of silver. The cigars are categorized under E.P. Carillo’s Elite tier, which is in the upper echelon of the E.P. Carrillo hierarchy of brands.

The E.P. Carrillo Elencos are made in the Dominican Republic at Perez-Carrillo’s La Alianza factory.
