Diplomático Cigar Made For Rum Now Shipping
It’s a premium cigar that’s meant to be paired with a fine glass of rum. Mombacho Cigars has partnered with Diplomático Rum to create a new smoke specifically blended to complement this Venezuelan spirit. Called Diplomático By Mombacho Cigars S.A., the cigars are now shipping to retailers nationwide.
“Inspired by the profile and character of Diplomático Rum’s aromas and balance, I made a unique cigar blend,” said Claudio Sgroi, president and master blender of Mombacho Cigars. “The cigars are not only meant to go well with the rum, they are made because of the rum.”
Diplomático By Mombacho Cigars S.A. is not an infused cigar. No rum or flavoring has been added to the tobacco blend. Rather, the cigar is rolled with an Ecuadoran Habano wrapper and packed with Nicaraguan leaf from Jalapa, Condega and Estelí.
The cigar comes in three sizes: Toro, at 6 inches by 52 ring gauge; Robusto, 5 by 50; and Petit Corona, 4 by 44. Priced $9.95 to $14.95, each size ships in a 10-count box. A portion of the proceeds will go to two non-profit organizations.
“We are very proud to donate a percentage of proceeds to the ‘I Love Venezuela Foundation,’ a non-profit organization making a huge difference for the people of Venezuela,” said Nino Curbelo, Diplomático export director in North America.
A percentage of sales will also go to the non-profit Carita Felíz Kinder, an organization based in Granada, Nicaragua, to help children in need.
