If you're headed to Cigar Aficionado's Big Smoke in Las Vegas next month, you might want to stop by the Davidoff of Geneva store at the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino for an advanced look at Davidoff's Year of the Sheep, an elaborately packaged limited-edition cigar for 2015.
Inspired by the Chinese zodiac, the cigar will rear its horns for the first time at an event scheduled for November 8 at the Davidoff Mandalay Bay location. The cigar comes in just one size—an extra-tapered torpedo measuring 6 1/2 inches by 54 ring gauge, and features an Ecuadoran Habano wrapper, Dominican Yamasa binder and filler also from the Dominican Republic.
The zodiacal successor to least year's Year of the Horse (which followed Year of the Snake in 2013), Davidoff's Year of the Sheep will retail for $35 each. The cigars come packaged in brightly enameled, wooden eight-count boxes, with only 3,000 boxes allotted to the U.S.
If getting to Vegas isn't in your horoscope, you might be able to catch these special smokes in New York. They're scheduled to appear at the Davidoff Madison Ave. store in mid-November. The rest of the country's appointed Davidoff merchants won't get these cigars until December.
