Cuban H. Upmann Connossieur No. 2 Launching Virtually In Germany

There’s a new Cuban cigar coming to market and it’s premiering in Germany. Regional distributor 5th Avenue Products Trading GmbH will be unveiling the H. Upmann Connossieur No. 2 on November 24 at 7 pm via a virtual cigar party. The new smoke measures 5 1/4 inches by 51 ring gauge. Known as Bohemios in Cuban cigar factories, the Connossieur No. 2 marks the first time that Habanos S.A. has ever released a cigar with a 51 ring gauge.
Participants of this digital event—about 350, including clients of La Casa del Habano and Habanos Specialist shops—are invited to smoke along remotely in much the way U.K. distributor Hunters & Frankau introduced the Ramon Allones Edición Limitada 2019 virtually in August. According to 5th Avenue Trading, there are no tickets for sale and all “tasting packages” (each containing a cigar, spirit and chocolate) have already been assigned.
As is the case with past world premieres, Germany will be the first market to sell the H. Upmann Connossieur No. 2. Afterward, the cigar will start to trickle into other global markets. The cigar is set to retail in Germany for 13.50 euros each.
The Connossieur No. 2 will be the newest addition to H. Upmann’s Connossieur series since the Connossieur B, which came out in 2018. Packaged in slide-lid boxes of 25, the new cigar brings the Connossieur series to four sizes. Strangely, there was no mention of the upcoming Connossieur No. 2 at the 2020 Habanos Festival, an event that showcases and previews all the new cigars planned for the year.
Update: Added cigar image as well as price and size information.
