Like many of the cigar events scheduled for 2021, this year’s annual Tobacconists’ Association of America convention has been canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This will be the second TAA show shut down by the coronavirus, as last year’s convention was canceled as well.
Previously scheduled for April 11 to 15 in the Dominican Republic at the Casa de Campo resort, the TAA trade show will now be held virtually on March 23. No further details have been given by the TAA in regards to what that entails or exactly how the retailers will interact with cigarmakers.
Established in 1968, the TAA is a trade organization consisting of 78 retailers that cover 248 stores across the United States. Each year, some of the biggest brands in the handmade cigar industry produce special cigars that are only sold through the retail shops of the organization’s members.
