Cornelius & Anthony Bring Señor Esugars to IPCPR

Cornelius & Anthony Premium Cigars is planning to release its first Mexican wrapped cigar at the International Premium Cigar and Pipe Retailers trade show next month. It's called Señor Esugars—and it's named after brand owner Steven Bailey's pet dog, Oscar.
"Señor Esugars is our translation of ‘Mr. Sugars', which is Steven's nickname for Oscar." Courtney Smith, director of brand development at Cornelius & Anthony Premium Cigars said.
The cigar is enrobed in a Mexican San Andrés wrapper with a binder leaf from the United States and fillers from Nicaragua. Señor Esugars is launching in four sizes: Robusto, at 5 inches by 50 ring gauge ($9.75); Corona Gorda, 5 1/2 by 46 ($9.15); Toro, 6 by 50 ($10.50); and Gordo, 6 by 60 ($11.55). The cigar is rolled at Erik Espinosa's La Zona factory in Estelí, Nicaragua.
"Steven has been working on a Mexican San Andrés maduro blend for a few years and when he nailed it, we thought it was the perfect fit for Mr. Sugars—with a couple of name tweaks. The San Andrés maduro wrapper warranted the change to "Señor" from ‘Mr.' and the ‘E' before Sugars is a phonetic spelling of how the rollers at La Zona pronounce Sugars," Smith explained.
According to the company, this particular brand is a passion project of Steven Bailey's that took three years to perfect. The cigars ship in 20 count boxes and will officially launch at IPCPR next month.
Cornelius & Anthony is a subsidiary of the Bailey family's S&M Brands Inc., which produces Bailey, Tahoe and Riverside cigarettes, as well as smaller machine-made cigars. The family also grows and brokers tobacco under the company name Golden Leaf Tobacco.
