C.L.E. Launching Two Connecticut Cigars Next Week

In a departure from the norm, C.L.E. Cigar Company, best known for its Honduran-made, Corojo-seed cigars, is launching two new cigar lines that are rolled in Nicaragua and wear Connecticut-seed wrappers. The brands are called C.L.E. Chele and C.L.E. Prieto and will start shipping to retailers early next week.

"We will receive them later this week," confirmed Gaby Eiroa, marketing director at C.L.E. Cigar Company. "So they will officially ship on Monday."

Chele is enrobed in an Ecuadoran grown, Connecticut-seed wrapper and contains a Nicaraguan binder and fillers. Prieto is draped in a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper, grown under the open sunlight in the United States, and is also handcrafted with a Nicaraguan binder and fillers. Both cigars are shipping in the same four box-pressed sizes: 46 x 6; 50 x 5; 52 x 6; and 60 x 6. The cigars share similar pricing, from $7.00 to $9.00 and ship in wooden slide-top boxes of 25.

Chele and Prieto are the company's first C.L.E. branded products to be rolled in Nicaragua. C.L.E. has not revealed the name of the Nicaraguan factory at this time.

"We are not disclosing the factory at the moment," Eiroa said.

The cigars will begin shipping to retailers early next week.
