Casa De Montecristo To Open 28th Branded Cigar Lounge

Casa de Montecristo, the official licensed cigar retail arm of Tabacalera USA, has partnered with a new tobacconist for its 28th branded store. Named Casa de Montecristo by Mancave, the new shop is located in Hallandale, Florida, and is scheduled to open in April. It’s a 2,100-square-foot facility with full bar service that includes beer, wine and spirits.
Mancave Cigar LLC is owned by Benjamin Grynbaum. Although there is a Mancave cigar shop in Fort Lauderdale, the new Casa de Montecristo is an entirely different location.
“This new Casa is a great example of our commitment to partnering with some of the best retailers in the business to create comfortable atmospheres dedicated to the needs and taste of the community,” said Steven Lochan, CEO of Casa de Montecristo.
This partnership is part of Casa de Montecristo’s initiative to expand into the brick-and-mortar segment across the United States. While some Casa de Montecristos are retail partnerships (such as this one), some are all-out acquisitions.
In January, for example, Casa de Montecristo acquired Tampa Humidor and before that, in August 2017, it purchased Prime Cigar & Wine Bar in Boca Raton, Florida. Casa also struck a naming rights agreement with Arizona-based retailer Churchill’s Fine Cigars. Under the agreement, the four Arizona locations were branded with the Casa de Montecristo name.
The Casa de Montecristo stores across the U.S. are run by Tabacalera USA, a subsidiary of tobacco giant Imperial Brands PLC. In addition to the Casas, Tabacalera operates Altadis U.S.A. Inc., Santa Clara and JR Cigar.
