After a soft opening back in February for the Super Bowl, NFL star quarterback Cam Newton’s high-end cigar lounge, Fellaship, is officially opening its doors tonight in Atlanta.
The 4,600-square-foot space, which is owned by the Carolina Panthers quarterback, has a weekend of Cinco de Mayo-themed festivities planned for its grand opening. Tonight at 6 p.m., Newton will cut the ribbon during a ceremony, followed by an “after hours social.”
On Saturday, the cigar lounge opens at 3 p.m. and on Sunday, Fellaship will host a Cinco de Mayo party that starts at 1 p.m.
The cigar-friendly venue features a stylish, modern decor, walk-in humidor and fully stocked bar. Brands such as Ashton, Cohiba and Camacho will be available, as well as many more.
Unlike typical cigar lounges, Fellaship is also a restaurant. Chef Bernard Weston, who recently joined the team, has created a menu of small plates and entrees to keep hungry guests satiated throughout the weekend. These include appetizers such as BBQ spiced chicken wings, crispy sesame shrimp and lobster bites. Entrees include lamb chops and buttermilk fried chicken.
During Sunday’s party, Chef Weston will roll out a special menu featuring tapas and specialty tacos.
Newton, who began smoking cigars about four years ago, is expected to attend.
Fellaship is located in the Castleberry Point building on Olympic Park Drive, near Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
