Arturo Fuente Holiday Collections Hit Retailers

Every year, Arturo Fuente releases special holiday collections of cigars that come in attractive, colorful boxes. The 2020 editions are no different, and all except the Fuente Fuente OpusX Rare Black Double Corona and Opus22 have already been delivered to Fuente Aged Selection authorized retailers.
The Fuente Fuente OpusX Serie Heaven and Earth collection features three different cigars: the Rare Black Double Corona ($65 per cigar), Rare Black Torpedo ($49.90) and Scorpio Maduro ($49.90). While the Double Corona has not yet been shipped, it’s expected to become available in stores February 2021. It’s also the first appearance Scorpio Maduro has made in roughly 15 years.
In addition, Arturo Fuente is presenting Dominican cigar lovers with the Opus22, a master collection of 22 Fuente Fuente OpusX cigars that come in various sizes. The assortment is shipping to retailers the second week of January 2021 priced at $995 per box, an average of approximately $45 per cigar. While steep, the price can be somewhat justified as the company says a portion of all profits will be donated to the Cigar Family Charitable Foundation (CFCF), which helps underprivileged children in the Bonao region of the Dominican Republic. Fuente says it has provided more than $1.5 million to the charity thanks to its customers.
Fuente’s November 2020 Release includes even more holiday gifts, all of which help benefit the CFCF. This year’s Opus6 is a mix of six different smokes: the Fuente Fuente OpusX Love Affair, Magnum O, Tiger Shark, Tauros the Bull and Lancero, as well as the Don Arturo Gran AniverXario Toro. The aged smokes come with three publications and are packed in lacquered, limited-edition travel humidors by Prometheus–available in four different colors. The company is only releasing 2,000 of the vibrant boxes, which retail for $270 each.
The OpusX Story, released two times a year for a total of 2,000 sets, is filled with four vintage Fuente Fuente Forbidden X cigars and a special publication. It will be available in shops as its own limited edition travel humidor ($179.95 per box) in five different colors.
Along with its travel humidors, Fuente is shipping big, beautiful cabinets of cigars. The first chest is named the OpusX Purple Rain Humidor and comes stacked with 80 Fuente Fuente OpusX Serie Heaven and Earth cigars, as does the OpusX Rare Black Humidor. Each sizable box retails for a whopping $7,250. Only 100 Purple Rain Humidors and 50 Rare Black Humidors will be made.
All of these cigars are crafted by Carlos “Carlito” Fuente Jr. at the Tabacalera A. Fuente y Cia. factory in Santiago, Dominican Republic. The Dominican cigarmaker is also teaming up with Jorge Padrón to release a sentimental collaboration.
