A Limited-Edition Romeo Y Julieta Coming In June

There’s a limited-edition Romeo y Julieta heading to retailers early next month, and the cigars come in a striking box that resembles a book—a nod to the literary roots of this heritage brand. Called The Romeo y Julieta Book of Love, these new Dominican smokes should start shipping on June 5.
The cigars are made with Dominican tobaccos on the inside, with a Sumatra-seed wrapper from Ecuador. But according to brand owner Altadis U.S.A., one tobacco in particular in this cigar stands out.
“The most predominant tobacco in the blend is the Dominican Piloto variety from two regions of the Dominican Republic—Navarrete and La Canela—located in the heart of the Cibao Valley,” says Pedro Ventura, director of operations for Tabacalera de Garcia in the Dominican Republic, where these cigars are produced.
Intended to be medium-to-full in strength, the cigars come in one Toro size, 6 inches long by 52 ring gauge. They are packed in a 10-count format and retail for $13 each, or $130 per box.
