A Crowd-Sourced Honduran Punch Coming Next Week

The people have spoken and General Cigar Co. has responded. After reviewing years of surveys and customer feedback, General looked at the consumer data and created a Punch cigar called The People’s Champ, a single-sized smoke made in conjunction with The Punch Brotherhood, which is an online-based group of Punch brand enthusiasts.
In a rather egalitarian approach, General started seeking consumer feedback for this project in 2019. Now that Punch fans have had their collective say, the result is a limited-edition robusto with a five-country blend made in Honduras at the HATSA factory. The People’s Champ consists of a Honduran wrapper from the Talanga Valley, a Mexican San Andrés binder and filler from Brazil, Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic.
At 5 inches long by 50 ring gauge, it’s blended to be a medium-bodied smoke and will ship to retailers on June 1 with a suggested retail price of $6.49 per cigar. According to General, the new Punch is a brick-and-mortar exclusive.
While The People’s Champ will come in five-count and 10-count paper-wrapped bundles, General is keeping the packaging a secret until the cigar is launched next week. It will be revealed on the Punch website.
