Cuban cigar monopoly Habanos S.A. has announced that the 22nd edition of the Festival del Habano will be held on February 24 to 28. The festival, one of the world’s largest gatherings of cigar lovers and cigar businessmen, returns to its traditional dates during the last week of February. Earlier this year, the event took place one week earlier.
Habanos offered no specific details about the festival, such as which cigars would be showcased or any other special events that might occur during the week. The announcement said the itinerary will include its traditional activities: visits to tobacco farms, factory tours in Havana, seminars, a trade show and the gala closing dinner, as well as the third edition of the Habanos World Challenge contest. For the farm trips, the groups will travel to the Partidos region, closer to Havana, instead of Pinar del Rio.
Habanos advised anyone interested in more details to visit the company’s website beginning next month.
