New La Gloria Cubanas

General Cigar Co. has unveiled a new La Gloria Cubana cigar: the Serie N.

The four-sized brand, which the company says is for experienced smokers, is made with a combination of Nicaraguan and Ecuadoran Sumatra tobaccos.

The cigar was blended by General’s Yuri Guillen, working along with Benji Menendez, Michael Giannini and Rick Rodriguez, collectively known as Team La Gloria Cubana.

“Our intent was to provide tenured smokers with a flavorful powerhouse of a cigar, one worthy of its pedigree, and I believe we have delivered that in spades. We are confident that consumers will respond to the new taste dimension brought forth by the proprietary Nicaraguan tobacco,” said Debo Mukherjee, vice president of cigars for General Cigar.

The brand comes in a fire-engine red, hexagonal wooden box adorned with a gold Serie N logo. The cigars are packed 24 to the box.

General unveiled the cigars today in New Orleans at the IPCPR trade show. They will be on the market in October, at prices ranging from $6.00 to $7.10. The cigars are rolled in Santiago, Dominican Republic.

La Gloria Cubana’s Serie R, a line of fat cigars, is one of the brand’s newest and most popular items.

La Gloria also debuted the third cigar in its Artesanos line, called La Gloria Cubana Artesanos de Obelisco. The cigar is shaped akin to the landmark Monument to the Heroes of the Restoration that dominates the skyline of Santiago, Dominican Republic, where La Gloria Cubanas are made.

The cigars are made from Dominican and Nicaraguan ligeros with an Ecuadoran Sumatra wrapper and made into what the company calls an obelisk shape, measuring five inches long, with a ring gauge as thick as 57 and as narrow as 44.
